Electrical engineering project: Power electronics cooling device

Title: POWER-ELECTRONIC-COOLING DEVICE
Department: Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering.
Can be used for: Paper presentations, engineering projects for final year engineering students, seminars on recent trends in power electronics.

Electrical engineering students who are interested in the core of the stream selected will be very much interested in this topic for a final year engineering project or paper presentations. Power electronic projects and international standard papers are hard to find and select in the internet these days. This unique blog post is for those students. We at our request page, get a lot of request for this particular topic. So we hope this project paper will be useful for young engineering students. This project paper is of higher standards for engineering students, to work on. But this could enhance the level of thinking and work, when helped by seniors and lectures. This project is about a device that is used to cool the power electronics of a vehicle system. It is particularly done by a liquid circulating through a cooling circuit that is mounted under a plate holding the power electronics. According to the invention by  the cooling circuit can include deflectors and turbulator to increase exchange co-eff between the cooling circuit and the cooling liquid.

Sample for the attached power electronics paper: According to one embodiment of the invention, the pressed plate 23 is fixed to the flat plate 24 by brazing. The reference 26 represents the brazing joints used for assembling the pressed plate 23 and the flat plate 24 by brazing. In the embodiment in FIG. 1, the pressed plate 23 is connected directly to the support plate 21, by a brazing technique. This brazing technique consists of assembling two plates made from the same material, for example aluminum, separated by a plating layer, or brazing join, deposited on one of the plates. These two plates are then heated in an oven at the melting temperature of the plating. The plating layer, in the case where the two plates to be brazed are aluminum, is also made from aluminum but has a melting point less than that of the two plates to be connected. This plating layer, here made from aluminum, is deposited according to a co-lamination technique on one face of at least one of the two plates to be brazed, this face being opposite to the other face to be brazed. The plating being of the same material as the two plates to be connected, there is no addition of a thermal barrier, which makes it possible to obtain good thermal conductivity.

BE Mechanical engineering project: Electromagnetic noise in resonant cavities and apertures

Title: Analysis and mitigation of electromagnetic noise in resonant cavities and apertures.
Departments: Mechanical engineering projects, electrical engineering.
Can be used for: Projects by final year engineering students, higher level projects, paper presentations.

Mechanical engineering students are the ones who are hitting this blog more in numbers. In recent times, we found most of the students belonging to this department are not interested in regular engineering projects that all common final years do. These guys are interested in doing projects that are considered to be complicated and having goo scope for their higher educations. This project is an higher level engineering project. But a good one for the mechanical engineering students who are trying to something different and make an better knowledge in the core side. This project is basically about the recent trend called "Low voltage electronics circuits that are vulnerable to electromagnetic interference"

Sample from this mechanical engineering project : Perfect matching using absorbing boundary conditions is hard to realize in numerical methods. Sometime the reflection is very large that the s-parameter calculation by the assumption of perfect matched termination will no longer be acceptable. This is especially the case when the transmission line is filled with a dielectric material. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a method for S-parameter calculation irrespective of how the transmission line is terminated. The method presented here will be suitable for situations where the reflection from the transmission line termination is unknown or there is considerable amount of reflection from the termination of the port. calculate the S-parameter directly under condition of matched termination. If the termination is not matched, it is not possible to tell the incident from the reflected wave in the numerical algorithm. However, the voltage and current of the port is easily available in numerical simulation tools. That information leads to the consideration of S-parameters or Y-parameter. Z-parameters, for instance, are a set of parameters that completely describe the network in a manner similar to how S-parameters describe the same network. Z-parameters are related to voltage and current in a two-port network by the following equations

Image compression projects: digital image processing (ECE, CSE projects)

Title: Fast Block-Pruned 4x4 DTTAlgorithm for Image Compression.
Department: Computer science engineering, Communication engineering, electrical engineering, Digital image processing, Digital signal processing.
Can be used for: Final year engineering projects, paper presentations, research works.

Finding image compression and digital image processing project topics for your final year engineering projects can be so easy and simple. Because of the development in the trend of "project centers" and guides. Still this project on digital image compression is valuable because this is more real and latest trend in the topic that you will not find in the lists of your project centers. The most interesting fact about the DIP projects is, This topic is one of the common topics that is open to all the departments of engineering (probably). This is due the application and demand for this concept. The image compression is done to send the large sized original image through the internet to a remote place. As sending such large data through the internet is not practically possible, we need image compression and processing.

Sample from this image compression / processing project: In this paper, a fast 4x4 algorithm which is suitable for different block-pruning sizes is proposed. The rest of the paper is organized as follows. Section II introduces the definition and the properties of the DTT algorithm and its 4x4 version. The proposed fast block-pruning 4x4 DTT algorithm is presented in Section III. In Section IV, the computation complexity of the proposed algorithm is illustrated with respect to different block-pruning sizes. As well as, the computation complexity of the proposed algorithm is compared with those of others. Section V demonstrates the reconstruction of different standard images using the pruned 2-D DTT vs. the pruned 2-D DCT. Finally, the conclusion is given in Section VI.

Electric bike final year engineering project ideas with details

Title: Electric bike, final year engineering project.
Department: Mechanical engineering, Automobile engineering, Electrical engineering.
Can be used for: This idea and paper can be used for developing a proper final year project for the engineering students.

This project titling, Electric bike must normally attract larger number of mechanical engineering students towards it. This is a real good project for students who are all willing to do their final year engineering projects on their own, without running into project centers. This project is all about designing and construction of an electric bike. Actually this title could be done by any good creative person in general but the paper attached to this post is really a standard one and invented by CHUAN-SHENG CHEN. Normally a electric bike is known as e-bike. It is fundamentally an bicycle with a proper motor. Which is used to power the cycle. These motors are generally powered with rechargeable batteries. These E-bikes are found to get more recommended and appreciated these days, due to the fuel shortage and pollution effects. So a project on this topic will be very useful to score well in the exam point of view.

Sample form the paper attached: The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric bicycle, which can be formed by user manipulatively mounting a power driving assembly to a regular bicycle and the power driving assembly comprises a driving gear, a flat motor, of which details are disclosed in a co-pending application that was filed as a patent application by the present applicant and is now issued a patent, a battery set, an operation knob, and a transmission gear train. The driving gear is mounted to spokes of a bicycle wheel and is concentric with respect to an axle of the wheel. The flat motor is mounted to a frame of the wheel. The battery set is received in a casing, which is mounted to a frame of the bicycle and the operation knob is mounted on a handlebar of the bicycle or other suitable locations to control a switch of the flat motor, which transmits the power generated by the flat motor through the transmission gear train to drive the driving gear and thus controlling forwarding and stopping of the bicycle wheel, thereby realizing the operation and function of the electric bicycle. The present invention allows an electric bicycle to be formed by simply and easily and user-manipulatively mounting a power driving assembly to a regular bicycle and allows the user to select the preferred model or a bicycle model suitable for the user's riding, or it is even possible to mount the assembly to a bicycle that is currently used by the user to make the electric bicycle to thereby substantially reduce the costs.

BE projects: Wireless mobile charing device projects

Title: Wireless mobile charing device projects
Departments: ECE projects, EEE projects, Electronics engineering, electrical engineering.
Can be used for: Application oriented projects, final year engineering projects.

This concept wordless mobile charging is one of the most commonly though and dreamt project for most of the young minds. Though researches are going on, in this particular topic by various technology giants across the globe, Still there is no standard device released. So this makes this topic more interesting for projects and try outs. Mostly when it comes wireless charging of electronic devices it falls under this branch called the "Inductive charging". Inductive charging uses the EMF to transfer energy between two objects wirelessly. This method basically has two coils. One as the transmitter and the other as a receiver coil. The transmitter is connected to the usual power source and the receiver is connected to the charging unit of the electronic device. Thus the principle can be explained in a simpler way.

Engineering projects: Repeaterless fiber optics communication.

Fiber optics engineering project ideas.pngTitle: Repeater less branch powered fiber optic communication.
Departments: Communication, Electronics and electrical, Telecommunication.
Can be used for: Paper presentation and related study.

This is a project that falls under the subject of "FIber optics communication". this papers idea was invented by Lars Erik Eskildsen, Evan Lee Goldstein, Per Bang Hansen. The basics of this paper presentation can be stated in this manner. The title suggests that the engineering project in the fiber optics is to design a network with branches that is repeater less. This idea is to construct a fiber network, configured in the ring topology with number of hubs in the network and one or more branching its interconnected in that. the branching units are designed to add/drop the signals along the path of the network. The engineering projects on fiber optics is to reduce the loss and remove the repeaters still make that network effective with the optical amplifiers.

Sample of this fiber optics project: The specification relates to a repeaterless branch powered fiber optic communications system. The system comprises an optical fiber cable trunk, configured in ring topology, with one or more telecommunications hub, and one or more branching unit serially interconnected therein. Branching units are provided as convenient add/drop points along the extend to cable stations. Cable stations insert and extract telecommunications traffic from the trunk ring over the branch fiber optic cables. In addition, the branch fiber optic cables are also coupled to light emitting power sources. The branch fiber optic cables deliver the energy produced from these power sources to optical amplifiers serially embedded within the branch fiber optic cables, the branching units, or the optical fiber cable trunks. The optical amplifiers convert the energy delivered from the branch fiber optic cables into amplified telecommunications signals. Thus, remote pumping or energy delivery is achieved without the requirement of additional optical fiber cable runs and further, using solely passive repeaterless components.

A system and method of minimizing the amount of power that is used by an optoelectronic module is disclosed. The system uses a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) to maintain a case temperature of the module at about 50.degree. C. This allows the TEC to operate in the much more efficient heating mode, thus minimizing the amount of current being used to maintain the module temperature. The method includes the steps of determining a temperature range and operating temperature for an optoelectronic module, such that a maximum current level is not exceeded. In one exemplary embodiment, an operating temperature of about 50.degree

Paper presentation: Thermal power plant

Download this Thermal power paper here: Paper presentations - Seminars

The electric efficiency of a conventional thermal power station, considered as sell able energy produced at the plant bus bars compared with the heating value of the fuel consumed, is typically 33 to 48% efficient, limited as all heat engines are by the laws of thermodynamics. The rest of the energy must leave the plant in the form of heat. This waste heat can be disposed of with cooling water or in cooling towers. If the waste heat is instead utilized for e.g. district heating, it is called cogeneration. An important class of thermal power station are associated with desalination facilities; these are typically found in desert countries with large supplies of natural gas and in these plants, freshwater production and electricity are equally important co-products.
Since the efficiency of the plant is fundamentally limited by the ratio of the absolute temperatures of the steam at turbine input and output, efficiency improvements require use of higher temperature, and therefore higher pressure, steam. Historically, other working fluids such as mercury have been experimentally used in a mercury vapor turbine power plant, since these can attain higher temperatures than water at lower working pressures. However, the obvious hazards of toxicity, and poor heat transfer properties, have ruled out mercury as a working fluid.

Automatic phase changer circuit

Title: Automatic phase changer project circuit
Department: EEE projects, electrical engineering, electronics engineering.
Can be used for: Mini projects, engineering projects, engineering projects circuit diagrams

In three-phase applications, if low voltage is available in any or two phases, and you want your equipment to work on normal voltage, this circuit will solve your problem. However, a proper-rating fuse needs to be used in the input lines (R, Y and B) of each phase. The circuit provides correct voltage in the same supply line through relay from the other phase where correct voltage is available. using it you can operate all your equipment even when correct voltage is available on a single phase in the building.

The circuit is built around a transformer, comparator, transistor and relay. Three identical sets of this circuit, one each for three phases, are used. Let us now consider the working of the circuit connecting red cable (call it ‘R’ phase).

Paper presentation AC Drives

AC induction motors are commonly used in industrial applications. The following motor discussion will center around three-phase, 460 VAC, asynchronous, induction motors. An asynchronous motor is a type of motor where the speed of the rotor is other than the speed of the rotating magnetic field. This
type of motor is illustrated. Electromagnetic stator windings are mounted in a housing. Power connections, attached to the stator windings, are brought out to be attached to a three-phase
power supply. On three-phase, dual-voltage motors nine leads are supplied for power connections. Three power connection leads are shown in the following illustration for simplicity. A rotor is mounted on a shaft and supported by bearings. On self-cooled motors, like the one shown, a fan is mounted on the shaft to force cooling air over the motor.

Paper on Brushless DC motor

Shift-by-Wire is about replacing the mechanical link between the automatic transmission and the shift lever with an electromechanical system. This will make new safety functions possible and assist the driver in other ways. To do this, an actuator with a brushless DC motor is built into the transmission. It controls the position of the shift valve, which decides the driving position. This thesis concerns the controlling of the brushless DC motor. This is done by programming a shift control unit with a Motorola HC12 microcontroller. The performance of the motor is then tested and evaluated.

Keywords: Brushless DC motor, Shift-by-Wire, Automatic transmission, Hall sensors, Pulse width modulation.

By applying the potent combination of BLDC technology and DSP technology, OEM’s can bring to their customers innovative and advanced features. Applications which were cost prohibitive for the consideration of BLDC motors just a few years ago are not only viable today but also are thriving on the competitive advantages brought forward by the BLDC technology. Conversely if OEM’s ignore the advantages of technology, they run the risk of being over taken by their competition.
