Linearized equations of motion• The full equations of motion derived in the previous lecture are clearly nonlinear and, therefore, difficult to solve.• The equations would be much more practical if they were linear.• So why not linearize them?• All linearizations are performed around a static stable condition• Therefore, in this case we will linearize around a steady trimmed condition
